Social Responsibility

McDonald & Ross Const. Ltd.’s goal is to enhance sustainable business practices throughout our Company and maintain superior legal and ethical standards. 

We conduct our operations in an environmentally sensitive manner while creating efficient, productive and sustainable solutions.   We meet or exceed institutional regulations on the environment which apply to our operations and we regularly monitor our environmental performance.

We implement the policy of the three “R’s of Environment” – REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE - whenever possible on all jobsites and encourage all employees to responsibly manage waste on a construction jobsite as it is a vital component of sustainable building.

We are committed to providing our employees, sub-contractors and associates with a work environment in which they feel they are equipped with the right information, training and supervision to act in a safe manner.     We provide resources, training programs, policies and procedures to ensure environmental sustainability within our Company.

At the beginning of each calendar year, our Company holds a two day seminar to discuss, read, roll play and suggest all aspects of McDonald & Ross Const. Ltd.’s policies both safety and environment.   At that time, the employees are  issued a Certificate of Completion – Health & Safety Manual as approved by ISNetworld and this was completed on the 5th day of January, 2012.

Over the years, McDonald & Ross Const. Ltd. has taken on many socially responsible projects with the most recent being the construction of  South Poplar Traditional Elementary School’s hockey court and walking trail and the Terra Nova Rural Farm aka the “Healing Gardens”.
